The winners of the 2026 Alberta Book Publishing Awards were announced on September 17 at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton. Administered by the Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA), the awards celebrate the essential role Alberta book publishers play in championing local voices and telling Alberta’s Story. The winner of the Children's and Young Adult Book of the Year Award was awarded to Red Barn Books for Howdy, I'm Singh Hari, written by Kelly Kaur, illustrated by Ravina Kaur Toor. In the Mystery & Thriller Book of the Year category, Renegade Arts Entermainment took home the honour for Blood and Fire, the third and final book in author-illustrator Bill Slavin's Mordecai Crow trilogy.
