Nominees announced for the 2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards

Comic-Con recently announced the nominees for the 2026 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. Named for acclaimed comics creator Will Eisner, the awards are celebrating their 38th year of bringing attention to and highlighting the best publications and creators in comics and graphic novels. Several Canadian titles made the 2026 lists.

Best Publication for Early Readers

Steve, a Rare Egg, written and illustrated by Kelly Collier (Kids Can Press)

Best Publication for Kids

Oasis, written and illustrated by Guojing (Godwin Books)

Best Publication for Teens

This Place Kills Me, written by Mariko Tamaki, illustrated by Nicole Goux (Abrams Fanfare)

Best Adaptation from Another Medium

Alanna (Song of the Lioness, Book 1), written by Tamora Pierce, adapted by Vita Ayala, illustrated by Sam Beck (Abrams Fanfare)

In addition to being nominated for the Best Publication for Teens, Mariko Tamaki has been nominated for Best Writer for This Place Kills Me.

The Eisner Award trophies will be presented in a gala awards ceremony to be held at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel during Comic-Con on the evening of July 24
